Three hospitals retain Lifecycle to deliver procurement and contract management services

Three hospital groups have retained Lifecycle to deliver a range of procurement and contract management services designed to minimise whole-life equipment and services costs. They include Lifecycle’s first client outside the UK – Jersey General Hospital.

Jersey General Hospital

Jersey General Hospital has retained Lifecycle for three years to deliver outsourced procurement and contract management services focussing on equipment maintenance and supplier performance management. While not subject to EU procurement regulations, the Hospital adheres to the framework of public procurement regulations and Lifecycle will support them in testing the market to ensure best overall value is achieved, financially and operationally.

Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has awarded Lifecycle a three-year contract to procure and manage maintenance contracts. This includes the management, recording and policing of service records for PPM visits by suppliers. The Trust has also retained us to provide lease procurement and contract management services.

We have also been asked to work with the Royal Marsden Hospital on a major procurement exercise to address spend and service levels across three major suppliers.

University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust

The Trust has extended the original agreement by retaining Lifecycle for a further four years. The agreement includes the provision of maintenance procurement and contract management in addition to lease procurement and contract management. We are also working with the Trust to bring additional contracts into OPTIMiSe, providing the Trust with the ability to manage other types of contract. We are also looking at how we can support them with their procurement activity across the wider region.

Commenting on the new contracts, Jonathan Wickens, Commercial Director of Lifecycle Management Group explained “We have been working on these new contracts for some time. While we’re excited that two of them are new clients, we’re also pleased that University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust has chosen both to award us a further term for our contract with them and that they have expanded the range of services they retain us for”.
